Reloj de Montecristi

The Montecristi Clock Tower is a late 19th-century clock tower and the most recognizable symbol of the city. It was made in France and assembled in 1892 in Duarte Park, in front of the house where General Máximo Gómez lived. Its mechanical movement, four faces and iron structure make it a unique piece of Dominican heritage. It still keeps the town's time and is a must-stop for photos, especially at sunset, when the tower is lit up against the colonial houses of the historic center.
