Faro a Colón

The Faro a Colón is an enormous cross-shaped monument built in Santo Domingo Este to commemorate the fifth centenary of Columbus's arrival in the Americas. It houses a museum with pieces from the age of discovery and a symbolic light that projects a cross visible for several kilometers at night. You can go up to the roof to take in the landscape and visit its exhibition halls; it stands next to the Malecón and very close to Los Tres Ojos.
