Category: Naturaleza / parque · Destination: Samaná

Samaná is one of the most touristic regions in the country, famous for its hidden beaches, rainforest and the bay where humpback whales arrive every year to mate and raise their young. Its capital, Santa Bárbara de Samaná, is the departure point for whale-watching excursions (from mid-January to March) and for boat trips to Cayo Levantado and Los Haitises National Park. The area also includes the coastal towns of Las Terrenas and Las Galeras.
