Salto Elena

Salto Elena is a hidden waterfall in the mountains of Espaillat, near Jamao al Norte, where the water tumbles into a series of natural pools of fresh, crystal-clear water surrounded by vegetation. It is reached by a trail through farms and forest, so it is best to go with a local guide and bring hiking shoes, swimwear and water. It is a quiet, uncrowded outing; the best time is outside the rainy season.
