Punta Rucia

Punta Rucia is a quiet fishing village on the northwest coast, the classic departure point toward Cayo Arena (Paraíso Caño) and the mangroves of Monte Cristi National Park. Its beach, with shallow waters and pale sands, is a perfect place to rest, eat fresh fish at the local eateries and watch the turtles grazing near the shore. Every morning the boats set off along the islet-studded route to the sandbank.
