Centro Cultural León Jimenes

The Eduardo León Jimenes Cultural Center, known as Centro León, is a museum and cultural centre in Santiago de los Caballeros, on Avenida 27 de Febrero (Villa Progreso). Opened in October 2003 by the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation, it brings together collections of modern and contemporary Dominican art, pre-Columbian archaeology and ethnography, with four exhibition halls, an auditorium, a media library, a classroom-workshop, a café, a shop, a Caribbean patio and gardens. Its educational programmes revolve around creativity, identities and habitability, making it the leading cultural reference of the Cibao.
