Category: Aventura · Destination: Puerto Plata

Damajagua National Park, in Imbert (Puerto Plata), is a natural staircase of 27 waterfalls, slides and limestone pools hidden in the tropical rainforest. You walk for 30 to 50 minutes along trails and then descend by jumping from heights of up to 7-8 meters and sliding down the natural chutes, always with a helmet, life vest and certified guides. Circuits of 7, 12 or 27 pools are available; it was declared a natural monument in 2004 and is the most popular eco-tourism excursion on the north coast.
